Meet Manisha Kaushik: Entrepreneur, Activist, and Style Icon
"Fashion is what makes you happy", whoah! Quite a revelation for those looking for fashion inspiration. Raise up your fashion bar with the gorgeous Manisha Kaushik who, besides being a fashionista, has more reasons to inspire you all. She wears many hats as an entrepreneur, a model, and a social activist. The CMO - Vidyut Engineers and MD, Samko Solutions India Pvt Ltd, a genetic engineer, and a first-generation businesswoman, the classy Kaushik wears every outfit with equal elegance.
What makes her more appealing is that she is beautiful inside-out and always trying to help humanity. A social activist with Innerwheel, ALL- all women's organization, WOO- Women On Own, Vice Chairman Srishti Foundation, life member Of Welfare Society for the Physically challenged, member YWA and Assocham to name a few, Manisha keeps busy trying to make this world a better place. A trekker, Model, and recipient of many awards, she has her goals set high. Impossible doesn't exist in her dictionary. She does it all with style and believes fashion is about 'you'. Q. What is fashion according to you?
Fashion is not about labels or brands. It is actually about you and what you want other people to believe about you. It is the confidence, the drape which carries you far & would make a difference. Each style brings out something about you? Your Style is a reflection of you, your attitude, and what you want to project to the outside world. It is actually what makes you happy!!
Q. What styling advice would you give to our readers?
Each person is unique and different. When you wear what makes you comfortable and gives you extra confidence with a smile, becomes your style statement. Just being yourself makes all the difference.
Q. What are your favourite fashion brands - for western & Indian outfits?
My favourite western brands are Forever New, Zara, and Mango to name a few. Indian brands like Global Desi, Chumbak, Aurelia, Fab India, and Biba offer a wide variety of chic Indian clothing. You can complete your look with handmade desi jewelry & bags present at these outlets.
Q. What is your most favourite attire?
It's really difficult to say what is my most favourite attire. On one hand, I love Sarees- elegance personified, making each one look beautiful. On the other hand, I also love dresses which can both be chic & comfortable.
Q. What is that one fashion rule you would never break?
One fashion rule that I would never break is to dress up appropriately for the occasion. For me, less makeup, a dash of brightness coupled with a warm smile works wonder. I don't bother too much about the price of the dress. It's 'you & only you' who can add the extra oomph! Here I quote ....Giorgio Armani,
Elegance is not standing out, but being remembered.
You have to be different & unique. Fashion is just a tool of what others want to believe. It is the stepping stone for people to connect for the first time ever. Go out & capture the world with your unique style !!
