Women actors of Mom’s theatre academy, Gurgaon share their journeys.

Recently staged annual productions Khamosh Adaalat Jaari hai and Talaash Hai on December 14^th by Mom's Theatre Group of Magic Creation Theatre Academy founded by Geetika Goyal, a multifaceted and highly acclaimed personality of art and society, were applauded both by the public and the art and theatre personalities. Both plays were directed by Mr. Binod Sharma, the man behind the success of the Mom's Theatre Group and were staged at The Excelsior American School Gurugram and supported by THEWOOMAG, Shasawat Designs Muslin, Sattviko, Excelsior American School and Office Today.

Chief guest Padmashree Prof. Ashok Chakradhar felicitated the event by his special comments talking about how theatre changed from 19^th Century when even women characters were played by men to 21^st Century when women are giving face and voice to the male character. The most important man behind the success and confidence of these women actors is Mr. Binod Sharma though. The unique fact about these plays was that these were enacted by all women of Moms Theatre Group. Moms theatre group, as the name suggests, is a theatre group by women for the whole society where women from different facets of life practice the whole year and then make noise in the town with their talent each year. Sometimes the play could be a comedy, sometimes thriller and then serious realistic ones, like the ones this year.

Geetika Goyal, told us in our exclusive interview how playing a man's character made her understanding about men's psyche much deeper, their struggles, their thoughts etc. Men go through difficulties as well, theirs might just be different than ours, said another actor. The realistic Vijay Tendulkar's plays so beautifully written and skilfully crafted by Binod Sharma that they touched the heartstrings of the audience and left them mesmerized. In his interview with us, Binod admitted to his respect for women and that his increased confidence in women ever since he started working with mom's theatre group.

He told us how he admired these ladies who came out as winners and professionals due to their sheer commitment and passion. Respect of a woman, her struggle, her self-esteem, and the grit to move forward, saying- 'I don't care', is the essence of both the plays. Lighting, music and applause of the audience made it even special. We wish them that they make bigger noise about the issues plaguing our society and culture.
